A cannabis-infused butter is one of the most common ways that you can infuse your favorite baked goods with cannabis. As one of the most crucial aspects of baking with cannabis, we want to take you through a step-by-step guide on how to infuse butter with cannabis.
You’ll first need to decarb the cannabis flowers as skipping this step could result in a product that is inactive or unfinished. A cannabis bud produces a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that needs to be converted with heat in order to experience the full effects. When we vaporize or smoke cannabis, heat will convert THCA into THC. To decarb your cannabis correctly, you will need to preheat your oven to 245°F, place the buds on a non-stick and safe oven tray. Once the buds are in place, you can keep them between 10 to 18 min. Grind up the cannabis with a hand grinder and you will be ready to start infusing your butter.
Melt down a cup of water and a cup of butter in a stock pot on a low simmer. Adding in the water will prevent the butter from scorching. Add in the cannabis which should be coarsely ground and decarbed.

Strain out the plant material by placing a funnel on top of the jar and aligning the funnel mouth with a cheesecloth. When the butter has cooled off, you can pour it through the cheesecloth and then remove the added plant life.
Refrigerate your jar of butter as it forms back into a solid-state that you can use just like regular butter. Experiment with proper dosing using your mixture of cannabis butter and regular butter.
